PayPal Auto-return support

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

With the latest version of DLGuard just released today, DLGuard now offers support for both Paypal Auto-Return On and Auto-Return Off.

Auto Return is a feature the seller can set in their Paypal Profile. Basically the differences between these two options are seen on the last page on the Paypal website. After a customer clicks the Pay button in Paypal, one of two things will happen:

With Auto Return On:
Paypal will display a message saying “Redirecting to download site”, and will then send the customer back to DLGuard automatically.

With Auto Return Off:
Paypal will display a payment summary, and will have a large button saying “IMPORTANT: Click here to download your product”. The customer then clicks the button and is transferred back to DLGuard.

This feature was originally going to be released in DLGuard v3, but due to popular demand it was brought forward and released as DLGuard v2.4.5.

1ShoppingCart, a payment service used by many people to sell digital products has been aquired by Website Pros for around $12.5 million dollars.

Speculation is now travelling around internet business forums regarding the obvious question of “What (if any) changes will be made to the system and business model”. Time will tell.

Further information about the aquisition can be found on their website here.

ClickBank spring cleaning!

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Over the past few weeks ClickBank seem to be doing a rather vigorous spring clean.

ClickBank seems to be discontinuing services for some websites, and also seem to have made this acceptance policy stricter for new products.

The products being affected seem to be products related to “get rich quick” offers. These can be anything from “work at home” data entry products, through to “become a millionaire” ebooks.

The common factor seems to be products that promise large incomes from little work.

While some may see this as unfortunate, it is more likely a strengthening of ClickBank’s policies to help ensure the continuing success into the future.
