Paypal accepting credit cards

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Up until recently Paypal Personal accounts were not allowed to accept credit card payments. If someone were to send a credit card payment to your Personal account, you would either have to reject the payment or upgrade to a business account.

You are now allowed to accept 6 credit card payments per year to your Personal account before upgrading. This is a handy feature for the occasions that someone does send you money via their credit card rather than their Paypal balance.

Clickbank affiliates offering bonuses

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

A method used by many affiliates is to offer an incentive to purchase through their affiliate link. This is very common when big ticket items are launched by a number of big names to a very wide audience. Incentives can come in the form of eboos, scripts, memberships, etc.

Clickbank has always prohibited offering cash rebates and coupon style bonuses, but lately there has been talk about whether or not digital items will be allowed as bonuses.

There is current talk that digital bonuses such as ebooks, scripts, etc. will be allowed but the affiliate needs to make it very clear on their promotion page that the bonus products have nothing to do with Clickbank, and that any issues of the bonuses cannot lead to a refund of the promoted product.

This has not yet been listed on the Clickbank site, however it sounds like a reasonable move.

ClickBank has launched new admin screens

Monday, November 20th, 2006

There’s been talk over the past week about changes coming to ClickBank’s admin area. Today it’s been launched!

The admin interface is a lot easier to navigate for a number of reasons, including a better menu system, and clickable graphs and date ranges. By clicking on a bar in your sales graph, reports will the be displayed for that particular day’s sales. Sales and Paychecks can be exported to CSV, and a year-to-date total is show of your entire earnings.

The new features are an excellent addition to the ClickBank administration interface.
